Stone Sharpening, established in September of 2018, is more of a hobby than a small side-business. I don't sharpen skates to make my fortune. I sharpen skates because I like to, because we live in a small community and because I believe skaters and families need convenience with local, flexible options for consistent sharpening. We are a busy family and I can sharpen skates anytime I am available. I charge just enough to cover the costs to operate the machine and a bit for my time.

I have a well-made machine and I know how to use it. I've been sharpening skates for a long time however, I'm not a professional skate sharpener - just a hockey dad with a machine trying to help local skaters and families.

My main focus is on quality and convenience for players and parents. I have 3 kids, all running in a different direction and finding the time to fit in a sharpening can sometimes prove to be frustrating. I've taken the need for a consistent service and added flexibility to choose what works best for you and your family!

Pick up & drop off services - A different skate of mind...

This is truly a service that will come directly to your home, office, rink or pond around your schedule. If you're not home, leave your skates on the porch and I'll pick them up and return them where I found them. If you need or want a local service for a great edge then I'm your guy. If I don't think I can do what you want done, I will tell you.

I care about your skates, the skater and my reputation. Give me feedback. If I don't get it right the first time, I will re-do it. If it's still not to your satisfaction I will give you your money back so you can have them done somewhere else. No hassles.

Simply Convenient....

This is a side business. I work full time which means my week days are generally full. Sometimes I have to travel out of town. And my family comes first. To catch me, shoot me a text or email, or give me a call and I will tell you when I can meet you. I will do my best to do them quickly and if I can't I will tell you. Usually I am available 2-3 nights per week as well as Saturdays and Sundays around my kids activities.

If you see me at an arena near you, feel free to stop me and ask me. If I'm close to home I'll do them right away, although I do encourage you to support local arena skate sharpening first whenever open. If your kid skates with mine, you are in luck! You will have personal service the entire season!
